75th Anniversary of Bernstein's Debut Concert with the New York Philharmonic

On November 14, 1943, Leonard Bernstein substituted on a few hours’ notice for the ailing Bruno Walter at a Carnegie Hall concert of the New York Philharmonic. The concert was broadcast nationally on the CBS News Radio Network, receiving critical acclaim and The New York Timesfront page coverage.
